Leitchfield man charged after gun allegedly discharges through apartment wall

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (K105) – A Grayson County man is behind bars after a gunshot reportedly passed through an apartment wall.

According to WNKY News 40 media partner K105, the Leitchfield Police Department arrested 19-year-old Christian Kerr of Leitchfield.

K105 reports the arrest resulted after a uniform citation states Kerr was “handling a firearm that discharged, shooting through an apartment wall and into a neighboring apartment” on Dec. 30.

At the time, K105 states there were two juveniles and an adult male in the apartment when the shot was fired.

The incident happened at an apartment complex on South Claggett Drive in Leitchfield, according to K105.

According to the citation, Kerr stated that after the gun discharged, he left it in his bedroom and tossed his phone in a pond “with intentions of getting rid of possible evidence.”

Kerr surrendered to law enforcement at the Leitchfield Police Department around six hours after the incident, K105 reports.

He was taken to the Grayson County Detention Center, where he faces three counts of felony wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
