Legendary Russellville Football Coach Passes at Age 93

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In Logan County, the community is mourning the loss of a legendary figure, as former Russellville Panther Football Coach Ken Barrett passed away on Saturday at the age of 93.

Barrett took the job in 1976, leading RVK to three state titles and four championship game appearances in his tenure.

Current Panther Coach Mikie Benton says he was a hall of fame coach, but even better person and his resume speaks for itself.

The field at Rhea Stadium was named in his honor in 2017, with a marker unveiled in 2019.
