Lady Tops use summer break to give back to community
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Under second-year Head Coach Greg Collins, the Lady Tops basketball team is prioritizing community service and involvement.
This past weekend, Coach Collins and a couple of members from the team volunteered at the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society for Clear the Shelters.
It wasn’t just members of the team volunteering, Coach Collins’ family was in attendance as well, and they had the opportunity to sponsor a shelter dog, April.
The team has attended multiple community outreach events this summer, including Feeding America and Stuff the Bus.
For Coach Collins, it’s all about giving back to the community that gives so much support to them.
“It’s important just to help out with our community,” Collins says. “We appreciate everybody coming to our ballgames and it’s important for our players to be involved in our community.”
The ladies tip off their season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Louisville.
