Lady Toppers complete first day of The Ally

WEST POINT, Miss. – WKU women’s golf wrapped up day on at The Ally in West Point, Mississippi on Monday in sixth place with a 9-over 297 team score. Kaylee Dwyer had the top score of the day for the Lady Toppers, with an even score (72) in the first round.

NOTABLES

Dwyer led WKU with a 72 in the first round, including two birdies on holes 3 and 18.
Savannah Howell had the second-best score of the day for the Lady Toppers, shooting 2-over (74). After finishing the back nine with a 4-over score, Howell bounced back for three straight birdies on the front nine and another birdie on hole 6 to cut her score to 2-over for the day.
Sydney Hackett heads into day two tied for 35th in the field with a 3-over score (75). She made par of 13 of the 18 holes and had a birdie on hole 17.
Averi Cline is tied for 42nd place with a 4-over score for the first round. She had three birdies in the round.
Nina McMurtrey had a pair of birdies to bookend her day, finishing in a tie for 62nd on a 6-over score.
