Lady Purples Softball Welcomes Familiar Face as Next Head Coach
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Lady Purples welcomed Penny Reece Wednesday evening as the new softball head coach for high school and junior high.
Reece joins the Lady Purples after several years of coaching experience at Greenwood High School, Grayson County, and Meade County.
During her almost twenty years with the Lady Gators, Reece led Greenwood to three state championships.
Originally from Bowling Green, she spoke on her excitement to be back in town, this time with the Lady Purples.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, you know, why would you want to come back and compete in this district?’ Because this is obviously one of the toughest districts in the state of Kentucky, but that’s what I love,” Reece said. “And that’s what I’ve missed, you know, from my time at Greenwood is that high level of competition, every single night, that’s kind of what drives me.”
