Lady Purples eliminated from 2022 Mingua Beef Jerky Girls Sweet Sixteen® Basketball Tournament
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Lady Purples season has come to a close falling to the Cooper Lady Jaguars, 55 to 47.
Despite foul trouble, injuries and some iffy calls down the stretch Head Coach Calvin Head kept his team fighting.
“Every time we got close, they would make a big play to kind of turn the momentum you know,” Head said. “We battled foul trouble the entire time. But they kept fighting scrapping claw and doing everything they could do to give themselves the opportunity.”
Bailey went down in the second quarter but came back in the second half posting 16 points. Junior star Meadow Tisdale finished the evening with eight points and six rebounds. Saniyah Shelton finished with six points and eight rebounds.
Tisdale, Shelton, and Bailey will all be back next season for their senior year, so the Lady Purples will be just as fun to watch next year as well.
