Lady Purples Advance to District Title Game, Defeat Lady Gators 66-37

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The top-seeded Bowling Green Lady Purples(24-6) picked up right where they left off in the regular season and used a strong start to set the tone in their 66-37 win over the #5 Greenwood Lady Gators (13-16) on Tuesday night.

The Lady Purples knocked down their first six shots, forced a drove of turnovers and dominated the glass en route to a 21-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

Bowling Green would cruise the rest of the way as they secure their spot in Thursday’s District 14 Tournament championship game against the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between Warren East and South Warren.

In addition, the win gives the Lady Purples a spot in next week’s Region 4 Tournament at Diddle Arena.

Thursday’s championship game will be held at South Warren High School, with a scheduled start time of 6 p.m.
