KYTC reverts four-way stop to single-stop in Simpson County

Bright Orange Traffic Cones

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A recently installed four-way stop in Simpson County will revert to its original single-stop configuration, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3.

KYTC announced the conversion of a single-stop to an all-way stop at the intersection of KY 585 and KY 73 on March 25 as a result of a traffic accident analysis.

According to an April 7 release, KYTC will revert to a single stop after traffic monitoring showed traffic flow changes that could cause efficiency and safety issues.

KYTC says the four-way stops on Gold City Road and Cedar Street will be removed at the T-intersection on April 8 at approximately 9 am.

“I am glad the State took some time to monitor the traffic and reevaluate the stop signs on KY 585,” says Simpson County Judge Executive Mason Barnes.

KYTC says motorists should expect temporary lane closures.
