KYTC asking for public input on possible new I-65 interchange

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is asking for the public’s input on a possible new future interchange with Interstate 65 in South Warren County.

Wes Watt, Public Information Officer for the cabinet said these are the very initial steps for the interchange. Right now they are looking at three options for the interchange: Carter Sims Road, Ky. 242, and Ky. 240.

Watt said that they are looking to build this because of the growth they’ve seen in the area, and the growth that they expect to come in the future. Another access to I-65 would help with traffic and transportation. They would also upgrade the road that they choose to construct it on.

Watt said it’s crucial to have the public’s input who live in that area and drive through that area.

“It’s the area they live in, it’s the area they may work in, and travel through. And we need to know what they think and what they want because it’s going to impact them in various ways. So we need to hear, just like with any other major road project that we do, we want to hear from the community.”

To give your thoughts, you can attend the online public meeting on March 16. You can also fill out a survey online through April 1. To find the survey or for more information you can visit their website here.
