Kwanzaa celebration to be held at Eleventh Street Baptist Church

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many holidays are celebrated around this time of year, and a group of people is coming together to share its traditions and knowledge at its annual event.

For 24 years, the Bowling Green Community Kwanzaa Committee has helped the community share the culture and educate people on the history of Kwanzaa and each day’s meaning.

Chasity Rodgers Dunn, co-chair of the 2025 Community Kwanzaa Committee, says, “This year’s theme for Kwanzaa is as Nia, because we’re having it on the Tuesday of Kwanzaa. And the theme of the day is Nia, which is, which means purpose. And our theme is celebrating purpose, power, community and friendship. So we want everybody to come out and celebrate those aspects of our Bowling Green community as a whole. “

This year’s new location will be at Eleventh Street Baptist Church, and they will be accepting donations like personal care and hygiene items and household essentials for Pita’s Place.
