KTC warns of text message scam
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced a text phishing attempt was reported Friday, impersonating a state agency.
According to their social media page, the text message IS NOT from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and recipients are warned not to click the link.
The Cabinet says they may send text messages about Driver Licensing Regional offices, but do not solicit personal information via text.
Victims who have submitted any personal information are advised to visit the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General website, ag.ky.gov, to follow their guidance concerning potential identity theft.
