KSP’s Cover the Cruiser raises thousands for Special Olympics Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Last week, local Kentucky State Police troopers were among many across the state raising funds during Cover the Cruiser.
According to KSP, this year’s event raised a total of $9,185 to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky.
All 16 KSP posts participated in the event, which has turned into a friendly competition. This year, Post 12 took the top place with a total of $1,462 raised.
Troopers participated by parking a state police cruiser, where citizens could place a custom sticker on the cruiser for a minimum donation of $1. Still, police say many Kentuckians donated more than the minimum.
Since the fundraising event began in 2020, KSP has raised $56,862.64 for Special Olympics Kentucky.
