KSP locate man accused of murder

RICHMOND, Ky. – Shannon Gilday, 23, of Taylor Mill, Ky. was taken into custody Monday morning by Madison County Sheriff’s Office, according to a social media post by the Kentucky State Police.

Gilday was located by an officer when walking along Barnes Mill Road in Richmond, Ky. around 4:30 a.m. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

According to an earlier post by KSP, Gilday was wanted as a suspect for a Madison County home invasion where he was accused of a fatal shooting of Jordan Morgan on Feb. 22. In addition, Gilday is accused of shooting former Kentucky Rep. Wesley Morgan three times during the home invasion, who survived his injuries.

Gilday is charged with murder, burglary, 1st degree, criminal mischief, 1st degree, assault, 1st degree and two counts of attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
