KSP leading Pike County death investigation

SHELBY GAP, Ky. – Kentucky State Police received a call to a shooting in the Shelby Gap community of Pike County on Tuesday.

KSP troopers and investigators discovered two subjects at a residence on Kelly Mountain Road. The subjects had been shot.

The preliminary investigation shows that the two subjects are husband and wife. Both gunshot injuries were fatal and the couple was pronounced deceased at the residence by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

The subjects were identified as Rickie Potter, 57, and Sabrina Potter, 51, of Shelby Gap.

According to police, Rickie Potter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

KSP is not currently searching for any suspects.
