UPDATE: KSP identifies victim in shooting death in Edmonson County

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police continues to investigate a shooting incident on Timberwood Drive in Edmonson County.

According to a release by KSP, troopers responded Monday around 7:30 p.m. regarding notification of a dead male at his residence in Edmonson County.

On Monday night, KSP confirmed that one person had died and no one had been detained.

Christopher W. Helson, 43, of Smiths Grove was pronounced dead by the Edmonson County coroner.

Next of kin has been notified. An autopsy is scheduled for the next day. There is no threat to the community at this time.
