KSP gathers supplies for students at annual back-to-school event

CHALYBEATE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police cruisers were filled to the brim today!

KSP helped gather school supplies for students in need as they prepare to go back to the classroom in a few weeks.

For fourteen years, the Kentucky State Police have hosted their Cram the Cruiser drive for local schools.

If you shopped at Dollar General today in Chalybeate or Brownsville, then you probably saw the school supply drive in action. Not only did folks buy school supplies to be donated – but food trucks were set up as well to offer a few sweet treats.

Troopers tell us the Cram the Crusier drive helps many children in the area every year.

“The kids here starting school in August, will have the supplies that they will need. Because there’s always kids that are in school that don’t have the supplies they need. We wanna make sure that every kid has the same advantage and can start on the right foot,” said KSP Trooper Daniel Priddy.

If you missed the drive today, don’t worry- you can help Cram the Cruiser next Friday and find updates on Trooper Priddy’s Facebook page.
