KSP arrests Horse Cave man possessing firearm following negotiation

Brian Bush

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A man faces charges after a traffic stop led to a negotiation.

Kentucky State Police 3 troopers performed a traffic stop on Hidden River Road on Thursday. The operator of the vehicle had a warrant for an active EPO.

Troopers commanded the operator of the vehicle, Brian Bush, 45 of Horse Cave, multiple times to exit the vehicle.

KSP says Bush did not comply and troopers attempted to open the driver’s side door. Bush locked the door and pushed the officer away from the vehicle. The officer attempted to remove Bush from the vehicle and Bush pushed the trooper away again. Bush retrieved a firearm from inside the vehicle.

Troopers stepped away from the vehicle and asked Bush to drop the firearm for several minutes.

Bush dropped the firearm following a negotiation and was then apprehended.

Bush is charged with wanton endangerment (1st degree – police officer), obstructing governmental operations, and menacing. He is lodged at the Hart County Detention Center.
