Kroger and Walgreens are recalling several pain medicines from off the shelf following a packaging concern.

According to Kroger’s website, the recall is due to not meeting requirements for child-proof packaging, which could cause poisoning if the contents are consumed by young children.

Kroger has recalled four Kroger brand products, including Kroger aspirin, 300 tablets; Kroger ibuprofen, 160 softgels; Kroger acetaminophen, 100 caplets and Kroger acetaminophen, 225 caplets.

The products also do not indicate “this package for households without young children” on the packaging.

Consumers should immediately move the recalled products to a safe location out of reach and sight of children. If you wish to return the product, Kroger provides instructions at kroger.com./i/recall-alerts.

Walgreens states on their website that Aurohealth is recalling Walgreens brand acetaminophen, 150 count bottles, due to the same issue with child-proof packaging.

The product is called “Walgreens, Easy Open for Adults, Pain Reliever, acetaminophen, 500 milligrams, fever reducer, extra strength, 150 caplets.” Walgreens sold the pain reliever from October 2021 through April 2022.

Walgreens recommends the same storage instructions as Kroger. If you wish to return the Walgreens product, contact Aurohealth about refund information at 888-504-2014.
