Kim Davis loses bid for second term as Rowan County Clerk
The Kentucky County Clerk that made headlines for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses has lost her bid for a second term.
Kim Davis lost Tuesday to democratic challenger Elwood Caudill.
They ran against each other in the 2014 democratic primary, before Davis *switched* to the Republican party.
Davis made waves in 2015 when she defied a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, even after same-sex marriage was *legalized* nationwide.
Several lawsuits were filed, and Davis was thrown in jail after a judge found her in contempt of court.
She later went back to being the rowan county clerk, but marriage licenses were issued *without* her signature.
