Kids on the Block in Bowling Green commemorates new garden
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Alice Kummer, a woman who played an important role in establishing Kids on the Block in Bowling Green, just got a courtyard under her belt.
The space that several non-profits share on the 900 block of Collett Ave. today, installed a new garden and courtyard in the middle of the building. Alice Kummer, who was instrumental in getting the program to Bowling Green, served as a volunteer executive director to the organization for 14 years and helped to implement everything Kids on the Block is meant to be.
Kummer said while she liked the recognition, it really lays on the volunteers that helped her along the way, saying it was thanks to them that they were able to have the shows. Kummer funnily admitted that she was never able to nail down puppeteering herself.
