Kids on the Block hosts golf scramble in honor of Jamie Gaddie Higgins

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block hosted one of its biggest events of the year on Monday.

The event not only honors one of the organization’s founders but allows the community to give back.

Jamie’s Shot Golf Scramble began in 1999 around the time Jamie Gaddie Higgins lost her courageous battle to cancer.

Higgins is the co-founder of Kids on the Block and brought the organization to Bowling Green in 1985.

Kids on the Block then brought the scramble back 5 years ago in honor of her legacy.

On Monday, approximately 108 golfers played on Indian Hills Golf Course.

The proceeds from their participation will go back into Kids on the Block programs in Warren County.

Jamie’s goal during her time as co-founder was finding ways for local kids to experience Kids on the Block.

Participants in today’s golf scramble also signed up for a 50/50 raffle which will help raise funds for Kids on the Block programs.
