Kids on the Block awarded Women’s Fund Impact Grant
BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky announced the winner of the organization’ Impact Grant at the fund’s annual dinner Tuesday night, which was held at the Knicely Center.
South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block was the recipient of $110,000. The three remaining finalists, Family Enrichment Center’s Little Learners, Friends of Lost River and The Foundry each received $10,000. Members of the Women’s Fund cast votes to determine the winning organization.
This is the seventh year the Impact Grant has been awarded, and according to Cara Benningfield, chairwoman of the Women’s Fund, the fund celebrated a record-breaking year giving $140,000 to a total of four organizations. She said that compares to the $51,000 awarded the first year.
The purpose of the award is to help non-profits in South Central Kentucky that take care of women, children or families. There were over 300 people in attendance.
