Kids Carousel helps benefit family resource centers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Kids Carousel Semi-Annual Children’s Consignment event started Friday with some proceeds and donated items benefiting the Warren County Public Schools Family Resource Centers.

Shoppers packed into the Bowling Green Jaycees Pavilion at Lampkin Park. They bought clothes, toys and even home items at a significant discount.

Aside from offering a great deal, the event is also giving back to local families in need.

Items leftover at the end of the sale will be donated to the Warren County Public School’s Family Resource Centers.

“Schools need so much help. As you know there’s a lot of funding cuts, there are a lot of families in need that don’t get the new school clothes and the Christmas gifts. It’s really important that someone in the community be able to give back to our schools and our teachers, because those kids really need some assistance and the families do too,” said Elizabeth Oakley, owner of Kids Carousel.

Some items were donated to the consignment sale and 100% of the proceeds from donated items will be given to the resource centers.

The event will end at 7 p.m. on Friday and will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
