Kickoff event held for Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-  At the Bob Kirby Branch Library in Bowling Green, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Association is preparing its next big walk. At a kick off event Tuesday, attendees learned about what the association has to offer in the community.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Association now has a new co-chair. Leslie Wright is ready to jump in and be part of the fight.

“I’m very excited to take on this position. The actual walk to end is something that’s been going on for many years. It’s to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. To raise awareness for what these members are going through, and how to be the support system for it,” said Wright.

Wright said her life has been impacted by the effects of the disease, which makes her even more willing to raise awareness, and show support.

“As someone who has dealt with it before with family members, it makes it a little closer to home to be able to give back to people going through this,” said Wright.

The walk will take place at 10 A.M. on September 7th at Circus Square Park. WNKY is a proud sponsor of the event.
