KHSAA girls golf state championships begin
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Lady Spartans of South Warren qualified as a team for this year’s finals.
Sydney Mclanahan, Elsie Espinola, Stella Forney, Riley Miller and Hannah Cassidy took the course and finished the first go-around of these 18 holes at 53-over par, putting the Spartans in fourth place heading into the final day of competitions.
Espinola helped lead South Warren today, with birdies on holes six and nine, while Mclanahan added a birdie on hole 10. She also finished the highest individually for her school today tied for 14th at 8-over-par.
And just competing individually today were two Bowling Green Lady purples, Caroline Childers and Amy Tomblinson.
Childers also finished tied for 14th place with Mclanahan at 8-over par, while Tomblinson completed the first day at 20-over-par.
The Lady Spartans and Lady Purples will wrap up the state finals tomorrow as they look to bring home the top scores in Kentucky.
