Kenutcky Museum hosts Duncan Hines: A Food Odyssey

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Kentucky Museum on WKU’s campus, Duncan Hines: A Food Odyssey took place.

This 45-minute presentation was given by Duncan Hines Expert Jonathan Jeffrey featuring his research behind the newest exhibition, “Recommended by Duncan Hines”.

Kentucky Museum Curator Tiffany Isselhardt says the legend of Bowling Green’s own Duncan Hines is important to recognize and learn from.

“You see a brand on the shelf, we’ve all used cake mixes, Betty Crocker, Duncan Hines, Aunt Jemima, but you don’t realize that behind the name is always a local person. And just like any other myth and legend, there’s always a kernel of truth behind it. For Duncan Hines, there’s actually an entire story. There’s an entire man in his life.”

The museum is free to enter and you can visit the exhibition from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday.
