Kentucky woman arrested in alleged scam involving photography business

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – A Kentucky woman is facing charges related to a theft by deception case involving her photography business.
According to sheriff John Root with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, a Laurel County detective arrested Dakota Mackenzie Burns, 25, of London on Tuesday morning following an investigation that determined Burns allegedly was paid for photography services through a business called Kynzie Burns Photography and was not providing those services or showing up.
Root says the sheriff’s office has located 11 victims with a total of $8,172 scammed.
Burns was arrested on a complaint warrant charging her with theft by deception, including cold checks. She was transported to the Laurel County Detention Center.
