Kentucky veteran saves friend’s life using CPR
ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Kentucky veteran proved to be lifesaving in an emergency situation.
Paul Morgan was just outside of a Walmart in Rockcastle County when he saw his friend, Larry, fall to the ground.
Morgan spent two years in the military, where he learned CPR. Even though it has been 60 years since he was trained, he says in the moment, something clicked.
Morgan jumped into action by giving Larry CPR. Larry began breathing before the ambulance arrived.
“When they was loading him, he looked at me, and he said, “I’ll see ya, Paul!” and I knew then he was gonna be alright,” Morgan said.
Morgan said learning CPR isn’t something you forget. It’s like riding a bike or learning to drive.
Morgan said, “Life’s so uncertain, and I think the most important thing is to be ready to go. I would do it again for anybody.”
