Kentucky Transportation Cabinet mobilizing anti-icing operations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is mobilizing crews in anticipation of a winter weather system.
According to a release, KYTC District 3 will begin anti-icing operations Thursday morning and into Friday.
The U.S. National Weather Service has placed the entire KYTC Cabinet District 3, which serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, and Warren Counties, under a Winter Storm Watch beginning in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Crews will be putting brine on the roadways ahead of the potential system.
The NWS is predicting major snowfall amounts with considerable traffic impacts, according to the release.
KYTC is urging the public not call 911 or local law enforcement for roadway conditions.
