Kentucky State troopers surprise kids with teddy bears at local hospital

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Kids at the Medical Center at Bowling Green were visited by Kentucky State Poloce with the gift of teddy bears on Wednesday.

The teddy bears are called Trooper Teddies. Troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 3 gifted them to children who are being cared for in the hospital.

KSP started the initiative to put a smile on so many faces. The Trooper Tesdies are funded through donations to KSP.

Trooper Daniel Priddy called the experience, rewarding.

“It’s a small gesture we can do to put a smile on a kid’s face. A lot of times when we’re out with children, we come across them in our daily job. It may be a real stressful time for them, or maybe one of the worst times of their life. Just to be able to give them something that may take their mind off it, it’s a great feeling,” Priddy said.

If you’re wanting to help keep the trooper teddy program going, the bears can be purchased from the KSP website.
