Kentucky State Police searching for man connected to generator scam

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is searching for a wanted man who has been connected to an alleged generator scam.

KSP Post 3 public affairs officer trooper Katan Parker says 59-year-old Nicholas Dean Bures, who also goes by Dean Knight, has allegedly been claiming to sell and install generators.

Parker says scam victims had to pay for the service the day Bures came out, and Bures was supposed to return later with a generator to perform installation. However, Parker says Bures did not return.

Authorities say Bures has active warrants Logan, Metcalfe and Warren counties for theft by deception.

Parker says Bures also has warrants for failure to appear and bail jumping.

Bures is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
