Kentucky State Police Post 3 provides reminder on traffic safety checkpoints

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is reminding the public of traffic safety checkpoints planned for known problematic areas.

Authorities say KSP uses the checkpoints to promote safety on the road and to discourage those who may violate laws. KSP Post 3 serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.

Troopers say the checkpoints aim to focus on driver impairment, vehicular equipment deficiencies, such as confirming registration and insurance of vehicles, and valid licensing of drivers. Other violations of law and/or other public safety issues that arise will be addressed, according to troopers.

Authorities say the checkpoints allows troopers to periodically concentrate on checking for violations of Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.
