Kentucky State Police Post 3 holds annual Cover the Cruiser fundraiser

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Wednesday afternoon, Kentucky State Police Post Three held its annual Cover the Cruiser fundraiser to help raise money for Special Olympics programs in Kentucky.
KSP held the event at the Five Star gas station on Louisville Road, raising money for Special Olympics and the Torch Run that the agency participates in each year.
The goal of the fundraiser is to cover the police cruiser in as many pieces of paper as possible via donations from the community.
Anyone can donate any amount they would like, but all that is requires is one dollar and you can write your name on the paper and place it on the cruiser.
Since the fundraiser began in 2020 Kentucky State Police has raised $75,700.76 for Special Olympics programs across the Commonwealth. Last year alone, they were able t raise $8,304.11.
For Trooper Katan Parker, the event is something that is truly special to him.
“It means the world to me because I see them come out. We also have some athletes here with us. They’re excited about it. And the fact that they’re excited about it, that’s simply enough,” Parker said.
Donations will also be accepted at Kentucky State Police Post Three located at 3119 Nashville Road. For more information, visit https://www.kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov/cover-the-cruiser
