Kentucky State Police Post 2 responds to 40 calls, 30 collisions

MADISONVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police received a high volume of calls due to winter road conditions.

According to a release, KSP Post 2 in Madisonville responded to approximately 40 calls Wednesday.

Troopers assisted three motorists and worked 30 collisions, three including injuries.

The release states that most of the collisions happened on the Western Kentucky Parkway between Caldwell County and Muhlenberg County and other highways.

KSP says traffic flow is interrupted as troopers are working two separate accidents in the area.

The Western Kentucky Parkway is reduced to one lane at the 83-mile marker on the northbound side in Caldwell County, according to the release.

Troopers remain on the scene at KY-672 in Caldwell County. Two semi-trucks with trailers are blocking the roadway.
