Kentucky State Police arrests Ohio man after interstate drug bust

MT. VERNON, Ky. – An Ohio man has been arrested after a massive drug bust in Rockcastle County.

According to trooper Scottie Pennington with the Kentucky State Police, trooper Brian Maupin responded to a disabled vehicle on the interstate that ran out of gasoline.

Troopers say the driver had been smoking marijuana and ran from the scene after an altercation.

The driver, who was from Ohio, was taken into custody.

Authorities say during a search of the vehicle, they found over 11 pounds of methamphetamine and a glass jar of marijuana.
