FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear provided an update Friday stating that Kentuckians will receive fully funded benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.

This follows uncertainty surrounding what SNAP benefit allocation would look like in November, leading to many communities to host food drives, while some food banks have reported seeing an increase in families stopping by for food.

In a social media post Friday, Beshear stated, “Great news, Kentucky – we’ve finally received the go-ahead to fully fund SNAP benefits for Kentuckians who rely on this assistance. Once again, our team will work through the night tonight, with the hope our families can see those benefits hit cards tomorrow. Despite the Trump Administration’s refusal to release these benefits, Team Kentucky is doing everything possible to ensure folks don’t have to wait any longer. We’re in this together.”

The Department for Community Based Services confirmed Friday that the Cabinet for Health and Family Services is working to issue full November benefits to EBT cards.

What you need to know, according to the cabinet’s website:

  • If you already received a reduced amount for November, you will get the rest of your benefits added to your EBT card on or about Nov. 15.
  • If you have not yet received your November benefit, you will get a partial payment on or about Nov. 15 and the remaining amount on your regular issuance date.
  • Check your EBT card balance before shopping to make sure your benefits are available.
  • DCBS offices are open and continue to take and process applications.
