Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association raffles off gator for Boys and Girls Ranch
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Kentucky Sheriff’s Association raffled off a John Deere gator last night in Bowling Green, with the proceeds going to the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys and Girls Ranch.
The Boys and Girls Ranch is a summer camp for children, and the proceeds will help children attend who may be less fortunate than others.
Jerry Wagner, the executive director of the Association, said this year they had a record number of entries, despite things being a bit different from coronavirus.
He said the most important part of the raffle is helping those children.
“We think we make a difference in their lives. That’s the significant part of all of it. And we have so many success stories…they’re not all successful but you know if we can make a difference in a few children’s lives, if we can help them choose a different path in life other than the wrong one, it’s all worth what we do,” said Wagner.
The winner of this year’s gator was a woman from Caneyville, Kentucky. They hold the raffle every year, so if people missed it this time there’s another one to look forward to.
