Kentucky man found dead after plane crash

A Northern Kentucky man, who was last seen flying his personal plane, was found dead as a result of a crash.

He was reported missing last Thursday night by his wife, who said he was last seen flying a small, red and cream plane. Askins was an experienced pilot who retired from Delta Airlines and most recently worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.

After an intensive search, investigators said they found the wreckage of the plane in a cornfield in Florence, Indiana, along Indiana State Route 156. Askins’ body was found inside.

The time and cause of the crash remain unclear.
