Kentucky man arrested after allegedly damaging, tampering with FLOCK cameras

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. – A man is charged after allegedly damaging or tampering with FLOCK cameras.
According to the Mount Sterling Police Department, the department received a FLOCK camera damage notification on Aug. 15. Authorities say eight FLOCK cameras have been destroyed or tampered with, including two privately owned by Lowes.
On Sept. 20, 9 FLOCK cameras belonging to MSPD and the Winchester Police Department were destroyed overnight.
MSPD and WPD launched a joint investigation utilizing nearby security cameras and FLOCK license plate readers. The agencies identified a suspect during the investigation.
Authorities say a search warrant was executed at 201 S. Queen Street and 44-year-old Robert West was arrested.
Investigators say the clothing worn, tools used, the vehicle used, and other identifiable evidence linked West to the crimes.
West is charged with eight counts of first-degree criminal mischief and six counts of obstructing governmental operations in Montgomery County.
Authorities say charges in Clark County and other jurisdictions are pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
