Kentucky lawmakers look to make the punishment for animal cruelty more severe

Kentucky lawmakers are looking to up the punishment, for those convicted of animal abuse related crimes.

WKYT is reporting that House Majority Whip Kevin Bratcher, Is introducing two new bills to the state. One is considered a ‘good Samaritan’ law, which provides immunity to individuals who break out a vehicle window, for the purposes of rescuing an animal in danger, because of excessive heat.

The second bill is one that would make it a felony for anyone convicted of animal cruelty for the second time. 

Currently, only animal torture is a felony in Kentucky.
