Kentucky Fish and Wildlife investigating geese deaths at local park

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – Geese at Beville City Park in Leitchfield are dying. An investigation is underway.
Leitchfield Mayor Harold Miller told K105 that four geese were found dead at the park on Tuesday.
K105 says Miller contacted Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials, who have launched an investigation into the deaths.
KYFW will conduct necropsies on the dead animals.
Fish and Wildlife officials told Leitchfield Parks and Recreation that “this is not an uncommon occurrence in the state of Kentucky. It has been happening since the end of last summer and the cold temperatures, as of late, may be a contributing factor.”
K105 is continuing its investigation and will provide updates as they become available.
