Kentucky couple charged with criminal child abuse

RADCLIFF, Ky. – A Kentucky couple is facing criminal abuse charges related to the injury of a 5-year-old boy.

According to the Radcliff Police Department, Joshua Inman, 32, of Radcliff, and Whitney Young, 33, of Radcliff, are charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under.

Police say Radcliff “intentionally abused another person or permitted another person of whom he has actual custody to be abused, and thereby caused serious physical injury and placed his 5-year-old son in a situation that caused him serious physical injury.”

In addition, police say Young also “intentionally abused” or “permitted another person of whom she has actual custody of to be abused, and thereby caused serious physical injury,” placing the child in “a situation that caused him serious physical injury.”

Both individuals were lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center. Young has since been released.
