Kentuckians rally outside of Senator Mitch McConnell’s office, demanding change
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Dozens of people marched along 6th street in Louisville on Friday to Senator Mitch Mcconnell’s local office at the Gene Snyder Federal Building. The protest was hosted by the Louisville Democratic Party. Organizers said they wanted to bring their concerns over cuts to federal jobs and programs to the Kentucky Senator. While McConnell was not there himself on Friday, people looked to speak with staffers. Those at the rally who weren’t supporters of McConnell said they recognize he still has a voice to push for change. Mcconnell, who recently announced he is not seeking reelection, has criticized some of President Donald Trump’s early actions, such as not supporting all of his cabinet picks and being critical of Trump’s sweeping tariff plan. Mcconnell’s term ends in 2027.
