Judge sets trial date for man accused of killing his wife
Warren Circuit Court Judge Steve Wilson set a May 7, 2019 jury trial date for Ernest Lasley, 72, who is accused of killing Betty Bunch Lasley Jan. 3 inside her home at 200 Shaker Mill Bend.
Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the home on Jan. 3 and Lasley told Detective Brett Kreilein he shot his wife multiple times, according to his original arrest citation.
“She was just a really kind lady. She would have done anything for anyone, never met a stranger and never judged anyone for their situation and she’s definitely missed,” Betty Lasley’s friend Gina Mills said.
“I just think when something like this happens people can’t rest in peace until someone pays for their actions,” Mills said.
At the time of her death, Betty Lasley was the property owner of the land and building of the business that still bears her name Betty’s Bar. But prior to her death, she had sold the bar business to another friend so that she could retire.
