Join AMVETS Post 130’s Steak Cook-off: Grillmasters, prep prime rib recipes for Saturday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Calling all grillmasters! If you think you’re sitting on the best ribeye recipe, you’ve got a chance to prove it this weekend all for a good cause.
AMVETS Post 130 is hosting their new fundraiser Steak Cook-Off this Saturday, and they’re looking for folks to join the points competition.
Chefs will get to cook 21-day aged Prime Rib Ribeye steaks furnished by Ryan’s Fatted Calf. Additionally, chefs can try their hand at making a dessert, bacon burger, or cocktail.
Bring your best rub because out-of-state challengers are perfecting their recipes.
“We’ve got people coming from Virginia, Illinois, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia,” said AMVETS Post 130 Commander and Steak Cook-Off Co-founder Gerald Mounce. “So, we have people come from all over the country. A lot of our teams are from here in Kentucky. You don’t have to be a professional. If you think you’ve got a great recipe for a state, load up your grill in your pick-up and come on out.”
Your entry fees all go toward our local vets. And on top of getting to eat your fill of prime steaks, first through 10th place winners walk away with cash prizes up to $1000.
