Job-based health insurance costs could rise

(CNN) – Getting health insurance through your job is predicted to get more expensive.

Employer benefits consulting firm Mercer collected the numbers in a survey.

It found workers can expect to pay on average an additional 6-7% in premiums next year.

Some employers say they’ll try to limit those increases, but that typically means you’ll pay higher deductibles and out of pocket costs instead.

Many companies are also offering workers more plan options, some of which have lower copays depending on the practitioner.

The projected increase is the steepest cost hike in 15 years.
