Jewel Heist event helps children victimized by human trafficking
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A themed-dinner Jewel Heist Saturday helped a local non profit raise money to assist victims of human trafficking.
Phoenix Rising hosted a royal wedding turned jewel heist as a mystery dinner theater fundraiser at the Historic Railpark & Train Museum.
All of the proceeds benefit Phoenix Rising, a local nonprofit that helps children affected by sex trafficking and exploitation.
“(This event) helps us to continue our programs. It helps us visit kids and to mentor children and also to continue our programs with our youth groups that helps to keep them safe and out of human trafficking,” Phoenix rising co-founder Missy Cunningham said.
SoKY Sunrise host Tej Joshi took part in the dinner event playing a role as “best man.”
