Jennings Creek Nature Playscape celebrates grand opening
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Located on the banks of Jennings Creek and Creekwood Greenway, Jennings Creek Nature Playscape celebrated its official grand opening on Wednesday.
The park, the first of its kind in Bowling Green, was built to mimic nature and create learning opportunities for kids. The project was made possible by nearly $500,000 in donations from United Way and community support.
Jennings Creek Nature Playscape is a tribute to the devastation by the December 2021 tornadoes. It is also in remembrance to the lives lost.
Some say this was definitely a community effort. Cameron Levis, recreation division manager for the City of Bowling Green, believes this is a “testament” to “how special a community like this is.” Levis acknowledges that Bowling Green is growing, but he is hopeful that the “special aspect of who were are can remain.”
United Way, parks and recreation and City Officials are excited for kids and families to enjoy the new play area.
