Jail’s body scanner finds Cave City man ingested two bags of methamphetamine
CAVE CITY, Ky.- A man from Cave City is behind bars following an incident outside of a post office, but it’s what happened inside the Barren County Detention Center that makes this story even more interesting.
According to a news release, on Wednesday, Cave City police responded to a suspicious person call outside the Cave City Post Office.
Officers caught up with the man, Joshua Cogar, 33. Police said they located a small yellow baggie on Cogar containing suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Once inside, Cogar went through a body scanner and according to the news release, jail staff noticed that Cogar had ingested a foreign object, which turned out being two baggies containing suspected methamphetamine.
Cogar was treated at TJ Samson Community Hospital and then taken back to jail.
Cogar is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence and public intoxication.
