Jackson’s orchard officially opens for season

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Spring is in the air, which is good news for a popular Bowling Green orchard.

On Thursday, Jackson’s Orchard officially opened and is ready for the community to stop by and take in the peaceful atmosphere, in addition to having access to its fresh produce.

As the orchard opens, preparations like tending to the fields and getting the nursery ready need to be made.

Orchard manager, Jonathan Price, explains all the year-round work that goes into getting the orchard ready for business.

“The biggest job we do, everyone of these trees has to be pruned by hand. We started that about the tenth of December and finished that about a week and a half ago. It’s a long process, but it’s very crucial,” said Price.

Jackson’s Orchard will remain open until mid-November.
